Uzbekistan increases penalties for corruption-related crimes
Uzbekistan is set to introduce stricter penalties for several corruption-related crimes. Under the new law, embezzlement or misappropriation will carry up to 10 years in prison, while fraud will be punishable by 8 to 10 years, alongside tighter parole rules for certain offenders.
